Suggest staying in Pattaya North hotel or April Suite in soi 6 Pattaya 2nd road locate at the end of small lane that I stayed a few times before.

What are the prices like in Walking St and Pattaya in general??
Soi Cowboy when I was last there was 1,000 to 2,000 short term or 1500 to 3000 LT. BJ or HJ can start much less.

Ice Kachang and Chendol are both deserts and both are nice to eat. Some people will like the ice more and some will like the coconut more. But nobody regrets ever trying both.

SK, not sure why you extend to Udon Thani (up country) unless you got teerak there.

If you not done Patts yet, and you have time -imho, it's worth the side trip for experience. Walking Street is mind blowing (for 1st timers) before you check out the other secondary places Soi Diana etc. Only just over an hour by Bells bus from airport, or 1.5hrs from city for thb200. Private taxi thb900 (email mr T somewhere here). Now into low season, so you may get some bargains on hotels.

Ya Pattaya..... went there almost every weeks for 3 months. After that, the "feeling" dies down.... :D

I have no idea why the Kid compare Pattay with Udon? Walkng street alone is about 5 Soi Cowboys - that is a better comparison. FYI there is about 70-80 agogos in Pattaya ; more than half in Walking Street.

However I do like the adventure spirit in the Kid ; maybe he is going to visit his teerak in Udon! :p

rented a motor sai, found the way to walking street. The traffic in central is crazy and parking is horrible :o after getting lost a bit found my way back to jomtiem.
