Pattaya is a boring place to go. It is a small fishing village with dusty road. No agogo or massage parlor there. Villagers sleep n wake up early. Why u will want to visit a village?

For 1st timer best to run the gauntlet in Soi 6 and head out elsewhere at night.. of course I am completely biased as I practically live in Soi 6.
Basically there is Pattaya and there is Soi 6.

Hi honestly...this thread has all the info you need..but I guess going thru all of it can be a tad tedious.

For a newbie jus stick to places like Sabai Dee..Sabailand..Honey...Honey 2... Rasputin. They all can be a hit one day and the next day only have pompui grannies. As many are within walking distance its best to shop around. Honey 2 and Rasputin best after 7 pm..but the rest its more advisable to go early.

what is the price like to book a cab from Bangkok suk area to pattaya for maybe a day go and back.

One way Taxi fare from Bangkok lower Sukhumvit area to Pattaya is generally within 1100-1500 B. This is negotiated fare. Just flat down one and ask before jumping in. Fare not right, then ask another one. No need booking in advance.

BTW, the pink color taxis seemed to be newer model vehicle than green-yellow taxi ( Just an observation and don't know why ).

You can easily find a taxi anywhere in Pattaya coming back to Bangkok. Return trip fare from Pattaya to Bangkok Sukhumvit is marginally cheaper than the outbound leg.

you can actually just grab a bus or a mini van at ekkamai.. very easy to get pattaya..

If on a budget I normally take the minivan from Victory Monument. Super cheap and can drop off almost anywhere wthin Pattaya.
