Haiz. Definitely do not support it.

Regarding the club issue and youngsters 'pre-drinking' near the river at CQ~

The thing is, the youngsters provide more than just tangible cash to the club. They also provide atmosphere. According to my friend, club promoters get paid a premium for each girl they bring into the club. Policy upon policy supports this; Wednesdays' ladies' nights, free drinks for girls on guestlist, etc. Shows you the intrinsic value of a 'girl' as well.

Without pre-drinking, a lot of these young 'SYTs' will find it harder to go into Zouk with a high and enjoy themselves. Singapore also generally doesn't have the culture of "let me buy you a drink or five." unless the girl is really willing to commit. Personally I am very reluctant to accept any drinks from males in clubs either when I go with my friends. However pre-drinking is a ritual almost.

Residents and others argue that this causes problems to the (adequate rest of the) GRCs, grassroots organizations and residents that finish activities latest by 10.30 pm. Hence, the timing 10.30pm was chosen so as to cause minimal disruption. However, shouldn't you let clubbing areas be clubbing areas and vice areas be vice areas? Just as there is a surcharge for people taking cab at CBD (as it is the designated "Business District", duh), why can't there be an allowance for nightlife areas such as Clarke Quay and even Geylang to have allowance of activities involving alcohol before 10.30pm? Makes a lot of sense to me. It's not as if CQ is a very cheap area to live in.

Again, I'm trying my best to tackle the main bulk of the argument rather than pick on small things like "what if BBQs with simple beer have to be registered." etc. I just don't understand our govt sometimes.

Wa I heart u.... U drink and get high before u get in. Good. I agree all the girls should drink and get high then go into zouk. If I get to see u in the club, I will definitely offer u a drink. It is in my blood to treat cute, chio girls whatever they wanna drink.

OK u are right. So the law must change. Change to only GIRLS allow to drink in public place and must get high before get into ZOUK. However, still ban all the CMI guys, youngsters guys to drink and create troubles. I agree with u youngsters bring more than tangible cash to the club. But must only let the youngster gals come in to bring up the atmosphere. Too many CMI guys or drunk guys will bring down the atmosphere. HAHAA>..

I think u are wrong. I feel Singaporean are really generous. In fact, I dun only see guys buying girls shots or cocktails. I have seen a lot of pple opening champagnes for the ladies. U must go out with the correct crowd. Maybe find more atas pple to club with and I can confirm with u, they won't want u to commit anything. Just be urself and enjoy the night.

Pre-drinking ritual is just an excuse la. I'm sure the girls will drink with the guys outside too. THen all high liao, the guys go inside also anyhow grope the girls. Pre-drinking is just an excuse for those guys to get the girls high cheaply and go inside anyhow nia. I think u mention something about not accepting drinks from guys???? Actually I feel, if u want to really know guys, maybe willing to be groped. Why not pick urself in the club, let the guys pay for u. I feel u sure put higher value on who u wanna know.

Those drinking outside and those willing to pay inside the clubs are all tiko guys la. In that case, make the guys pay if they wanna know u. Treat u and spend on u. If not why bother to know them.
