I think u stay too long in CP liao... where they have that 3 price quote thingy. What is it now? 300/800/1200? Good is mongers know the price but sometimes results in the whole experience getting very impersonal & the process mechanical.

Thailand is more laissez faire even though they do have a market rate but everything is more negotiable. You get more of the "GFE experience" that makes mongers come back again and again. But to each his own... CP does work as you know before hand what you will be paying for and getting. Thailand is more like Forrest Gump & his box of chocolates... "u dun know what u gonna get" but rest assured its gonna be sweet!

Sinkies like to whinge & complain. Almost 50 years of oppressive dictatorship has conditioned most of us to do so coz thats the only thing we can do. Sad...

There is a Singapore bakut teh in Bangkok open by a sg guy! Maybe you can do that as well as kopi loti kuay nung , lak$a , mee siam etc..............

My last trip I got to know many girls who did Singapore as part of the low season circuit. I am sure many thai girls will eat too coz they know what it is!

Most thais dont like our food. I cook sometimes and get only mediocre comments from my staff. They rather stick to somtam. My idea would be to open something like a Mr Bean counter here. Many Japs..Chinese..Koreans..and pple like us. Another option is to open Chiangmai type food. This I like...:D

Where is this BKT? I tried one BKT before at Hway Kwang... my personal opinion is not so nice. :p BTW have you eaten the chicken rice set up by Boon Tong Kee's brother called Boon Tong Kiat? There is a branch at Thonglor and one more a little out of Hway Kwang?

Bro u r right! Based on my own "market focus group" of puyings who worked in Sillypoor the following hawker favorites should do well in Thailand.

1) prawn noodles (Beach Road)
2) chicken rice (Boon Tong Kee)
3) bak kut teh (Outram Park)
4) L-A-K-S-A (Sungei Road)
5) BBQ sambal stingray (Alexander Village)
6) chicken briyani (Tekka Market)

I will intro black chicken herbal soup for chiongsters to replenish their vital "qi" energy! :D How? Any bros keen in a kopitiam JV in Patts or Krungthep plz PM me! :)

555+ juz realized typing the word L-A-K-S-A the forum will change it to this $$$$$!

In terminal two departure lounge, got the famous tip-top curry puff stall from AMK. That stall got sell nasi lemak i think. Since you already clear custom, they will not check again, i think....

No issue if u have check in luggage. Thats where zip lock bags, thermos flasks, tupper wear and lots of duct tape comes in handy.

Hand carry still difficult especially with liquids but food like nasi and all that shld be OK.
