You guys are lucky, let me tell you a true story hor from abt 6 to 7 years back, happened to my group including 2 very seasoned vietnam biz travellers from this forum (1 still active in SBF but the other once in a while will post), but I shorten it straight to the point
I have been travelling for almost 30 years and yet I am still damn farking careful to the point that if anybody touches any of my things especially my luggage I will know, regardless of how many thousand times I stayed in that hotel.
This 2 guys recommended me to stay in their regular 2-star hotel just behind Ben Thanh as I needed one for my private trips, they have been staying there for many months liao and said its good.
My first day there I checked in together with them and left my luggage in the room and went out to cheong, came back in the evening and I realised my canvas bag was tampered with (which those that travels with me knows my trick), I checked my bag and realised that my loose change pouch is short of S$6 as I dun keep any other big amounts or valuables there.
Immediately I told the other 2 to check their luggage and true as hell they lost a few hundred usd bucks each from their luggage, they told me normally they dun really count as it is one big stack until I told them about it, and this does not even includes what they have already lost in the past few months staying there which they don't even realised
immediately all of us checked out told the hotel boss why but she just denied everything
This is why I never ever take such things for granted
