let me chip in a bit on info on hcmc. i have been in and out of saigon (and also in and out of saigon girls' pussies) for over 4 years now. doesn't make me an expert of this place (like singviet), but long enough to share some observations.
1. Saigon is safe.
There are seldom capital crime. petty crime like house breaking, etc, yes. No one got their head chopped off and body parts cut off that I know of, unlike, say Singapore or KL.
2. Police are everywhere.
They just don't have to wear uniform. This is a communist country. There are Uniformed police, Secret Police, Informants, etc. Don't rely on only what you can see. What you can't see matters more (also applies to girls' boobs - had the misfortune of believing in what i saw, and then be shocked by what i found last night...).
once i saw a fight in a disco, and before those guys can flee, police already waiting for them outside. highly efficient. don't play play.
3. Sex is everywhere, also.
They just don't as much retail, as they did wholesale. and for those sex retailers, they are much more discrete.
4. 6-lanes road...
not sure where to find this. more streets are 2 lanes, duo directions.
5. Medicine
very effective cold medicine. when i was down with a cold, i bought a few packages of their special med - each pack consist of 4 different coloured/size pills. took it and lost consciousness. got well the next day, after 3 doses. who needs doctors?!
