Ikan Pari

One of the most popular BBQ fish in spore, msia and batam is none other than ikan parit (stingray) (魔鬼鱼) as its bones are soft and the meat is also tasty.

It is easy to be eaten too as its shape is flat.

However different country prepare the dish differently.

In spore & msia the stingray is bbq/burnt with lots of sambal belacan (shrimp paste) and taste more salty.

But in batam, the ikan parit is cook by bbq with less belacan but the belacan taste differently from spore/msia ones as the spices use in Indonesia is very much different from spore/msia.

Overall batam ikan bakar taste less hot and less salty than in spore/msia.

Noted that same food but use different kinds of cooking method the taste is different like deep frying, shallow frying, roast, grill, boil, steam, barbequing, stewing, etc

Usually ikan goreng (炸鱼) is more fragrance and crispy to eat than ikan bakar (烧鱼)

But for ikan bakar more of the nutrients and original sweetness of the fish can still be tasted...
