Re: Affair of a MILF (a housewife and a mother) with an young intern
Contd....
During the lunch time (about noon time), he was still working on the task assigned to him, so one of my regular lunch kaki asked him to join us. At first, he turned it down, saying it was early for his lunch (later I learned that Indians have their lunch and dinner very late) but on further insistence, he agreed to join. Over lunch, we all grilled him with questions about India and the safety of women there. I noticed the slight discomfort in Rakesh with all the queries, so to change the subject I asked, "Rakesh, how many languages do you know?", since India is a very diverse country. His modest response took us all off guard. "Err.. I know C++, C#, python, Fortran, Visual Basic and Java though I'm more acquainted with C# and python but I can play around to get the job done with the other languages too". We all squint our eyes and gave each other a blank, much to the bewilderment of Rakesh. The next moment, we all burst out laughing, drawing attention from the other diners in the food court but it was a very good joke at different level of communications. Looks like, we all started out on a right note with the intern. Rakesh gave out a sheepish nervous smile and the guys in the team were padding his back for the laugh. That was such a candid moment for me. Young guys caught embarrassed is such a cute thing to me and that moment really stuck in my mind.
That evening over the dinner table, John was playing games (as usual) and seemed exasperated at failing at a game. Lawrence looked at him sternly, that silent stare that tells him to put the phone down on the dinner table. My family try to have the dinner together on weekdays, as that is the only time we can all come together and talk about the day.
My youngest son, Eric, asked John and Lawrence, how difficult/easy it is to create apps. Lawrence quipped, "John, maybe, if you create your own app, you will have no difficulty completing all the stages of your game". Ahh... I remembered Rakesh about the languages he said he knows and giggled to myself. All heads turned towards me and I told about them about the new intern Rakesh and the conversation we had over lunch. Lawrence understands the importance of having a good command over programming languages and gave a passing comment, "Maybe, John can learn from Rakesh, while he is still here for a month". John just shrugged his shoulders to say "whatever" and continued with the food. Lawrence looked at me, in a way to say, "What do you say to that idea?". I didn't want to bother Rakesh with that, so I shook my head sideways in disagreement.
(To be continued...)
