Wise advice in theory, but in practice things are far from ideality.
1) If you can boil water, you are probably in a hotel room so well equipped to not miss a complimentary bottle of water for guests (Formosa gives plenty of water bottles, but there is no fire in rooms).
2) If you are so thirsty that you cannot take a bottle of water from downstairs, you are probably so thirsty that you will not take the time to boil and ice down water.
3) Did you ever see in what kind of water they do wash dishes in restaurants and foodcourts? All the dishes of one night of meals pass from the same dirty water...
Yet, I don't bring a steam sanitizer with me to clean dishes at food court
