If i am a doctor and you are my patient. If you cannot pay or has problem doing that, i will still treat you but you just dont get the best and better.
If you have a headache,i can either give you panadol or water. You can only be given water because you cannot afford panadol,hehehe...i will talk to your next-of-kin on some hospital white table with many "headache" department of probably a dozen medical experts, professionals, nurses, undertakers etc...at the same time telling them (your next-of-kin etc) how much panadol would cost and how much the bill will come out to if you are given it 3 times a day continously for the next 2 weeks. And you will need to fork out some percentage of the forwarded bill in advance, in the next few day if you choose the panadol package. Or you will be given just the "water" package.
Your headache can cure or cannot cure is another matter.
Thats what Singapore Hospital practice all the time to the people i knew who are Singaporean. I am sort of sure many will find this familiar,hehehe...

Agreed that it can be quite irritating.
I dont mind them coming out in the night but during the day...hehehe...i totally ignore them. Just take it as free music.
Anyway, i eat fast. As in i can complete my meal within 5 mins, waiting about 10 mins at best. Hence i rarely gets to see them. Of course, thats when i am on solo mode. If i have friends, i leave those "buskers" to the hands of my friends.
But i need to add this, most busking artist i met were quite nice people. If i ignore them, they just move on and many whom impressed me with non-Indo songs, when i tip them...they didnt just take money and go away. They finished singing at least a full song before going to the next table.
I respect those people. Got hand got leg, they dont go around begging for money.
One more thing, i dont give money to kid/s in Batam going around singing song or playing a guitar during my meal or buy newspaper from them. Nor will i buy anything from them. However, i do occasionally buy them food to takeaway (thats if they stay long enough in the coffee shop area).
