Sorry to read that your trip not very exciting.

Infront of Hotel 89 is Top 100 whereby have money-changer and on the left of the hotel few hundred meters infront of Swiss Inn Hotel there is a Steak House quite ex but nice ambience and good food

There is a sea port tax if you depart from Batam Center. Harbor Bay (wavemaster) tikets are inclusive of seaport tax

Maybe next time you'll have better luck.
