Correct me if I am wrong but I tot Tilac does not have coyotes. The girls all just dress up like coyotes with high boots.

I don't have a degree in law but my guess is this looks like 2nd degree murder. He stabbed the victim multiple times, not just once or twice.
His recourse may be to please temporary insanity/ rage. The testimony of his wife as to his character/ personality will be the key and make difference to severity of his sentence.
