Foreigners are not allowed to own land. U need to check with him and make sure he knows what he is doing
Most foreigners are blur f, listen to so called wife.
There are ways which the so called lawyer will advise foreigners to blend the law. One of them, he might own the terrace but not the land. It might be another contract signed by the land owner and them. If this is the case, then he is digging his own grave.
