There are 2 things:
1. Do not choose the shortest cue or that is manned by an old CB faced male officer.
2. Get ur RETUN ticket ready, just in case. If u do not buy one, at least edit from one of the used tickets and print.
If u didn't do 1 and 2 and that cb officer asked for RETURN ticket, u always can say want to talk to Singapore Embassy about ticket.

Better not say that, unless you want to try bluffing that you are a diplomat.
Otherwise if the immigration officer got any balls, he will say,
Anh dep trai oi, ve may bay la chuyen rieng cua anh, co lien quan gi voi Lanh Su Quan Singapore? Duuuuuuu maaaaaaaa...
Translation:
Brother dep trai, plane ticket concerns the private individual, what has it got to do with the Singapore Embassy? (in HCM is Consulate, not Embassy) #($$@*#$&%#(...
Regarding your #1, sorry but I disagree. I always choose the shortest queue and I prefer the older CB faced male officers (because I look at the rank and choose those that seem to have henta kaki - nicer to talk cock with because they obviously very sianz liao!) Muahahaha
